Ayurveda Tips -  First Aid

Many simple Ayurveda massages and herbal remedies can be practiced or affected as first aid measures for most common disorders like ear or back aches.

Follow the list of disorders underneath to be shown around the principal aches and the such that can be treated with a home remedy in Ayurveda's list of practices.

Asthma A teaspoon of ginger powder and one of liquorice added with half a liter of water is needed for this natural herbal remedy.

Boil the water mixed with the mentioned powders until only about a quarter (250ml) of it is left in the container.

Strain and drink warm. Adding a teaspoon of honey and/or common salt enhances the effect. 

Backache Backache can be treated with either ginger paste and/or eucalyptus oil applied directly to the effected area. Making your own home made healing herbal oil at home is also possible by taking 2 or 3 garlic cloves, chop into very small pieces and mix with 100ml sesame or mustard oil (any oil can be used if these two are not within reach). Afterwards boil the mixture for about 5 minutes on low fire, when ready apply by massaging the aching back point.

External Bleeding In case of external bleeding a paste by sandalwood paste serves as a very effective herbal natural remedy for both stopping the bleeding and also healing the injury. Another herbal product that will also help to alleviate the aching and heal the wound is one you can acquire by a cup of warm milk mixed with half a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a pinch of saffron or alum.

Burns Apply a fresh gel of aloe-vera with a pinch of turmeric powder directly to the burnt part of the body. Adding 1 to 2 grams of ghee or coconut milk to this Ayurveda medicine is even more beneficial.

Cold One tablespoon of grated fresh ginger and one of cinnamon powder mixed with a tablespoon of licorice powder, all added to one liter of water and put to boil on low fire until only a quarter (250ml) of it remains. This Ayurveda herb procedure will produce a most effective result once it is consumed three times daily.

Diarrhea This annoying disorder can be rebalanced by consuming two or three times daily the following natural herbal medicine; Take half a cup of water and mix with a tablespoon of fresh grated ginger together with one gram of nutmeg powder.

Earache For ear aches there are two herbal remedies available starting with a herbal medicine natural mixture consisting of the following;

Peel off the skin from 2 to 3 garlic clovers and chop down in very small pieces after which you apply 100ml of sesame or mustard. Once this process, as instructed by Ayurveda health inscriptions, is completed, boil the whole mixture for 5 minutes on low fire.

Once ready and the extract has cooled down, apply two drops in the aching ear for a maximum of two applications per day.

Or otherwise you can obtain the same results by mixing one full teaspoon with half a teaspoon of honey and applying in the same manner as before.

Eye Burn Eye burns can be treated by applying 2 or 3 drops of pure rose water to the concerned eye or eyes for a maximum usage of three times a day. Can also be applied also to itchy eyes.

 Boils In order to suppress Boils or sometimes make them form a ‘head’ so they can be easily drained, one can apply a mix of one teaspoon of ginger powder and another of turmeric made into a paste, directly on the boil.

Exhaustion (Heat) To fight exhaustion one can drink a glass (250ml) of coconut water and /or grape juice while also taking 3 to 4 dates after cooking them with one glass of milk or water.

Gum Bleeding Apart from gently massaging the gum with coconut oil, one can also squeeze half a lemon and put a teaspoon of honey in a cup of water. Drink this mixture every morning for the best results.

Menstrual Cramps A tablespoon of aloe-vera mixed in half a gram of black pepper powder can be taken 2 to 3 times daily or until the cramps cease.
